…Of course, the other side of the coin is something that is dealt with in scripture. Altho’ the vast majority of the time, the reality may be that the princes of this earth are the ones leading the horses, people will not see it. It is the fools, the slaves, that ride them people see. It will be at the gates of Heaven when they dismount…perhaps a story can be imagined.
The gatekeepers hold up their hands, will not allow the riders to pass through. At first, they smile. No doubt, these lowly servants do not understand. These highly esteemed lords are here to dwell in the mansions they have reserved for themselves.
The guards say they have been told of no such lords, although they were given a list of names of all the princes they were to permit entrance into the City. May they hear their names?
The lords cough and give their names, knowing they must be on the list somewhere. Maybe they got mixed up with some other business, not mansion reservation.
No, the guards shake their heads; their names are not on the list.
Well, mansion reservation was arranged quite a few years ago; but since then, the lords had assumed it had been a once-accepted, eternally-guaranteed contract. The lords talked with the others mounted on their steeds. Maybe they better return home and carefully read their “Land and Home” papers, it was agreed, and decided to call the slaves to lead the horses back…
But the slaves were gone. Every single one. The gate guard came walking up to one of the wondering lords on horseback.
“Their names were on the list,” he explained.
“I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking like servants upon the earth.”
